This worsted spun 4 ply construction yarn is ultra soft & smooth with a beautiful shine. The knitted fabric is drapey without being floppy, so that all the lovely benefits of Alpaca fibre may be enjoyed supported with the structure and bounce of Merino.
Produced by Kirchelly Textiles, this single origin yarn uses a new type of Merino. SRS (Soft Rolling Skin) Merino are bred to be non-wrinkled and plain bodied, making them naturally resistant to fly-strike and thus removing the need for mulesing in these flocks, resulting in better welfare. This trait also means that the shearer can clip closer to the body, and less frequently, resulting in longer fibres and over generations is projected to result in finer fibres.
