January 28, 2023
We've been keeping busy in January dyeing up all our Lexington Woolies Cormo pre-orders, re-run of our Advent boxes and having lots of fun with our own knitting, spinning & even a little weaving project.
So we thought it was time for our first shop update for 2023 - with the return of our limited edition Merino Possum Fingering yarn + the launch of it's big sister, Merino Possum DK.
Those of you who have already tried our Merino Possum Fingering base already know what a delight the yarn's airiness, gorgeous halo & heathered grey undertone are. It's truly a special, luxury yarn that must be tried.
Both yarns are New Zealand born & bred, non-superwash, woollen spun yarns that makes it an excellent choice for garments and next-to-skin accessories. The yarns are a blend of 80% Merino/20% Possum fur and punch above their weight, being suitable to be knit at heavier yarn gauges due to the halo from the possum fur.
Merino Possum Fingering is technically a 4ply/Fingering weight yarn (at 425m/100gm), but acts much more like a sport weight-light DK yarn (at a gauge of 22-27sts/10cm).
Merino Possum DK is considered an 8ply/DK weight yarn (at 248m/100gm), but also works well for Worsted & Aran/10-12ply patterns.
You can find more detailed information on the yarns here.
We've dyed up 12 new Merino Possum colourways which will be available to pre-order on both yarn bases. All yarns will be dyed and shipped by the end of February.

The Shop Update will go live at 12noon AEDT, Saturday 28 January.
